Do you ever feel like there aren't enough hours in the day, days in the week, or weeks in the month? Yeah, I'm pretty sure all of the above are true.
So, Beulah the Nissan Micra is dead. Like a door nail. And, ironically, the same week she died, Svetlana, my bike, was stolen. (Shut up, they're awesome names.) This led to the rubbish situation of me wandering around town my my little legs to get anywhere. This is lovely when you have time, less lovely when you have none. Anyhow, 2 miles is a bit of a pest after a 12 hour day or early in the morning.
I started praying for a new car, or at least something to get around town quicker. And God was good!
A friend of mine from the St. Bryce's Kirk congregation had a bike she never uses. I went round to look at it and was amazed! It's a £500 bike, without a doubt. It's beautiful. Light, aluminum (note the lack of second i, you Brits. That's how it's supposed to be spelled) frame, disc brakes, lightweight shocks, 24 gears, and quick-release wheels. It's a Ridgeback hybrid 21" man's frame.
It's amazing. So, in losing my car and bike, I'm saving £450 and getting fit with a much nicer bike than I've had in years. Who would have guessed - it's amazing and such a blessing!
It's weird getting used to being back to a bike and harassing the traffic, but I'm loving it.
And it takes a lot less time to get anywhere than walking.
That's a good thing.
