So, reading between the lines, you may or may not be able to tell that I've moved house.
I am still in Kirkcaldy, but I moved a mile west, to the High Street. It's entertaining, trying to figure out where to dump my car and not get a ticket; learning the ins and outs of keeping up-to-date with the registration of one's vehicle (apparently, registration is not "proof of ownership", but states "who is responsible for the automobile". Who knew?).
I moved into a 2-bedroom flat that faces south with a good sized living room and a tiny kitchen. Overall, it's relatively modern and has beige carpeting throughout. Unfortunately, our washing machine is dead at the moment. And, a month after I was promised it, we've got internet and a landline. (But we have internet and a landline!)
I've got a flatmate and a half - Terri and Shaun. Terri is always around. Shaun is around a lot, but not constantly.
Weirdly to me, we've got cable. I find the general growth of my television channel options over the last while quite odd.
See, most of the years I lived here, I had no telly, or only the very basic of analogue channels, with the exception of one year. I like it that way in a shared flat, as there are fewer choices, so fewer chances to complain and fight over what we're watching.
Then I got freeview when I moved to Kirkcaldy last year, which is the basic digital channels, which everyone will now have, especially as we are having the "digital switchover" here in June. No more 3, 4, or maybe 5 channels, depending on your signal. Now, everyone gets about forty channels, and the digital radio channels. It's weird.
But now I've got 60 channels, plus a few music channels above the usual freeview channels. And, on Monday, looks like we're expanding that to over 100. Plus movies, and sports.
CRAZY.
But, most importantly, I can get online, can blog, and can watch on demand programmes, in case the telly is being monopolised. And can listen to and download lectures! Yay!
