Sex and history?

Apr 23, 2010 02:16

I have been watching a rather interesting set of documentaries on Channel 4, hosted by Bettany hughes, who I am sure is a serious historian, but seems to generally be a sex-pot, speaking in a husky, smoldering voice and often swanning around in low-cut purple tops.

So... does history have to be "sexy", in that it is obsessed with the sex-lives and gender-politics of the past, or must it be "sexxxy", presented on a silver platter by a scrumpett with an excellent brain?

Hmmm. And am I easily lured by these ploys?

Darn this coffee and my brain! I knew better than to drink it!! I'm talking utter drivel!

fine arts, studies, weirdness
