After a few hours of googling, I'm as confused as ever. Every single site I visited gave different advice and loads were all "everyone is so evil to poor fishies" or scary hyper-hard core fish-fancier organisations. A Bit scary, really.
So, this lil' guy was labeled as a calico oranda, but after comparing pictures from 'tinternet, I'm pretty sure it is a calico London shubunkin. He's quite long and lean and doesn't have a freaky face. He's mostly grey with red, orange, black and brown speckles with long fins. He's quite stream-lined, not chubby.
After looking online, I'm feeling all guilty about buying a wee bowl... but I know that I can't afford the upkeep of an aquarium, per se. I think the bowl is about a gallon capacity. Then again, I know people who have successfully kept a simple fishbowl for 8-15 years...
I think I'm going to buy an undergravel filter for the tank, as I think it's only fair on little Ghengis... But I think I might have to wait and graduate to a bigger tank before ickle Kublai can come and join him...
Any thoughts?
Oh yeah! Should I buy an alligator skull, or pirate shipwreck complete with skeleton to kick ass in the tank?
