Ok, a proper post.

So you're probably wondering what on earth happened to your favourite blogger in the world.

Ok, that's total hubris and the Greco-Roman gods shall strike me dead in a very nasty way, most likely to do with my offspring or parents because of it. (note to self: avoid offspring and parents)

I haven't been particularly busy. I've had a few things on, but nothing of major import. I am planning a Burns Supper on Friday, because, well, it's the birthdate of the Bard from Ayshire himself, Mister Robert Burns. So there'll be haggis, neeps, and tatties in abundance from my local butcher. I intend to try my hand at cranachan - both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. I'll have to convince someone to bring some whiskey, because it just isn't right to celebrate without a dram. And I'm popping open the four bottles of wine that are groaning from being ignored on the top of my refrigerator. I'll have to buy some red, though, as white doesn't really go with sheep's bladder and liver that well, I'm thinking.

so yes. planning.

Aside from that, I got sucked into doing a spate of night shifts. One on Thursday (the 24th) became coming in on the 20th for a sick co-worker...who was sick on the 21st...who worked half a shift before I was called in on the 22nd...and so they've just decided to give me the run of five, pls a shift on Saturday morning. This leads to two things: money and sleep-deprivation. All whilst sorting out the specifics for Burns' Night. Bring It On, yo.

Speaking of that, I saw Bring it On on TV the other night and it made me smile. It's funny how those terrible teen flicks just become a part of our psyches. At least we've got 10 Things I Hate About You and not just Sixteen Candles.

On that note. Yeah. Heath Ledger's dead. That just blows my mind. He was only 28. Kids, stay away fromt he drugs. Heroin is BAD for you. And too many over-the-counter sleeping pills.

Uuuum....yeah. So what has been consuming my time, so that I am incapable of updating my Facebook? Of not keeping up my LJ?

It's called vixy.net, ya'll. And converttube.com. Seriously, guys, I'm obsessed. We all know I become obsessive with things that have little practical value, but here I am, the first to admit it. I have been joyously converting all of my favourite flash videos online into handy, portable mp4's so I can run away around town with my iPod, watching them EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, shut up. I already told you I knew it was geeky.

I'm trying to catch up on my podcasts, too. I'm like a month and a half behind on my "Wait...wait...don't tell me!" Podcasts, but I see that as a special bundle of gifts, as I get so much time to walk around town giggling to myself whenever I want to, rather than having to wait until Sunday, when the next one is released.

Even worse, I'm still back at the end of November for my Mark Driscoll sermons and I feel like I'm just getting more and more behind. But I also feel I need to give my whole attention to the sermons, because they are so full of goodness and are so challenging and even - dare I say it - entertaining.

Other things: the German possibility for a flatmate didn't work out, but I have a lovely Scottish girl that I'm with. She's only the third Scot I've ever stayed with, and I've already interacted with her more than I did the other two in a whole year. She's from Gorgie, as well, and has a pure class accent, pal. I'm tellin' ya, she kens the whole place and never did a thing she meant to yesterday.

Sooo good. So yes, say welcome to Pauline to the fold. I'll probably talk about her relatively frequently. And now I'll shut up, so that there's a chance you might actually read this post.
