I am so *not* domestic.

so today the boy I've been dating, Mike, is up island at his parents' house. I decided to be crafty and make cookies for Valentine's Day for him and my co-workers, so I start poring over recipes. I select a tasty chocolate chip with nuts version then go to my cupboards to pull out ingredients...no flour?! I call my mom and she says yes, we probably forgot to pack the flour in January when I moved. next idea is a brownie mix, so I get it all mixed up and go to find a glass pan, but I have no pan, nothing that all resembles a rectangular baking pan. by this point I'm frustrated and crying and realizing why I always liked my anti-Valentine's Day V-days of the past.

anyway, I find cupcake holders and manage to position them carefully on the oven rack so they don't slip through to the bottom. I am ghetto. and lacking cooking supplies. donations, anyone? *sigh*

so now I'm on a travel binge, and I have places to go and things to do.

2005 potential or confirmed trips:

Jan-Feb--Costa Rica with mom, done
mid March--if I can get a week off, Costa Rica again with Stan...odds are no more holidays from work though
Easter 4-day weekend--Phoenix or Palm Springs with mom and maybe a friend
early April--California coast with Ross
very end of April--NYC to see Stan (and hopefully Kristen!)
July--Guatemala mission trip

not to mention random up island trips and fun people (Elisabeth, Ross, Janae...) coming to see me (though Kat, Conrad and Christine flaked out 10 minutes before their ferry was supposed to arrive on Friday, surprise surprise).

and hopefully sailing trips once it gets nice out (this Mike lives on a sailboat, interesting eh) and he also wants to take a biking trip around Saltspring Island. time to start working my bum on the gym's stationary bike.

damn almost burned said brownies. peace out!
