“So I can pick anything I want to watch?” Garcia asked, slipping her arm through Morgan’s as they wandered towards the elevator.
“Within reason,” Morgan clarified. “I’m not sure I want to watch a horror movie.”
Garcia grinned up at him. “I was thinking more science fiction.”
“Well, I suppose it’s better than what we deal with every day. Did you have something specific in mind?”
“I did indeed. Why don’t you pick up dinner and meet me at my place?”
“And what does my lady desire for dinner tonight?” Morgan asked, pressing the call button on the elevator. “Hey, kid.” He poked Reid in the side when the younger agent didn’t look up from his book.
Reid finally looked up at that, blinking his eyes to refocus them. “Huh. What?”
“You will remember to eat tonight, right?” Morgan asked.
“Food. Right.” Reid nodded jerkily. “Yes. Food.”
“Tonight, Reid,” Morgan responded, steering Garcia into the elevator and then dragging Reid in after them.
Reid looked back down at his book as the elevator doors closed behind them. Morgan glanced at Garcia who was watching Reid with concern. “I’m going to drop food off to pretty boy before I meet you at your house.”
“Thai?” Garcia questioned.
“Absolutely.”
Morgan pounded on the door to Reid’s apartment, waiting for him to answer it. When there was no answer after a minute, he called, “Reid! Open up. It’s Morgan!”
When he banged again, the door was thrown open; Reid frowning at him in confusion. “What are you… Did I miss a call? My phone’s charged.”
Morgan held up a bag. “Dinner. Now make sure you eat it.”
Taking it, Reid frowned. “I would have remembered to eat.”
“Yeah, but I was stopping to get food for Garcia and me anyway and this way you won’t have to cook. I got your favorites.” He backed away from the door. “Enjoy.”
“Thanks, Morgan. You know statistics…”
“Good night, Reid.”
All the way over to Garcia’s, Morgan just shook his head. If he’d let Reid, the youngest agent would have quoted statistics at him for the next hour. He would have to make sure they had him over for a movie night soon and with that thought in mind, he grabbed the second bag of take-out and made his way up to the apartment.
“Did you pick a movie?” he asked as he let himself in.
“All cued up and ready. Just need dinner,” Garcia answered.
Morgan held up the bag. “Well, here’s dinner. Let me change into something more comfortable and we can eat.”
By the time he returned to the living room, Garcia had the food laid out on the coffee table and was curled up on the couch, the remote in her hand. Morgan settled down next to her and she leaned against him. “Was Reid okay?” she asked.
“Still deep in his books, but I gave him the food and he promised to eat.”
“We’ll have to have him over for dinner or a movie or something soon.”
Morgan tapped her on the nose. “Exactly what I was thinking.” He took the plate she handed him. “What are we watching?”
“I’m not a miracle worker.”
Morgan grinned remembering their conversation years ago. “That’s my girl.”
