And the saga continues. . .

So, I believe I have already spoken about the ice damming, the damage to my lovely daughter's carpet and the 800 dollars that the condo association gave us to fix it. What I haven't spoken about and what I didn't know until early this week is that under all of our carpet is asbestos tile. This is not a problem if we don't want to mess with the carpet. Of course we do. We paid Home Depot a small deposit on the installation of new carpet in Sylvia's room only to have them bail on us when they discovered the asbestos. To be fair I understand why they bailed and when I complained about the loss of our deposit to the customer service line they were most accommodating and gave us a gift card for more that twice the amount of said deposit. Excellent customer service all around and I am glad that I can still feel okay about shopping at Home Depot cause I like them. But about the asbestos. Eeek! It is nasty and hard to remove. It is dangerous to humans and especially those of us who are pregnant, small children or newborns. It costs over 2 grand to fix. So our solution is that we are having all the carpets, Sylvia's especially, steam cleaned by Stanley Steemer next Wednesday and then we are going hope that it is enough since we don't seem to have many other options. This being said we have to have both bedrooms, and our hall and living room clear of the larger and more formidable furniture by Wednesday. We also need to have the house clean so that the carpet cleaners aren't stumbling over all of our fantabulous clutter. I want this done anyway before the baby is born for my own sanity mostly so maybe this is the impetus that we need to really get things moving. I am just a little stressed out and with reason since I am giving birth in 17 days! 17 days, egads that is soon. Oh and we need to trade in our car for something larger and more winter friendly. Gawd I have so much to do! And did I mention that I'm nine months pregnant and can't bend over, sit on the floor, lift or be of any use whatsoever. Whimper.

Anybody free to help Ian move furniture on Monday or early Wednesday morning? I am so useless!
