Ok, so here's the deal. I have a very large crush on a former patient of mine (I say that like I'm actually one of the therapists...you know what I mean lol). I had a thing for him the entire time he treated with us, but he would joke around with all of the aides so I never took it too seriously. I flirted a little, but I kept it professional and tried not to let on just how much I like him. So now he's not a patient, and he randomly stops by sometimes to say hello.
He came in about two weeks ago and Jeff was saying that he likes me and saying out of all our patients he would really be a catch. I just brushed it off. Then he came in on Tuesday. I was all flustered because I get super awkward around guys I like, and when he came back to the treatment area he sat on my lap. My face was probably as red as the shirt I was wearing. We talked for like 10 minutes or so then he went over to the doctor's office that's connected to our office. Then all hell broke loose with the people I work with...asking when we were going out, if I got his number, when the wedding is (LOL), etc...which if you know anything about me, made me completely crazy because I hate being the center of attention. When he came back over he came up behind me and leaned real close by my ear and went "pssst" to try to scare me, and one of our patients was like, "Ooh, is that your hunnie??" bahaha!!
So now I need advice...how do I approach this situation? How do I bring up in conversation that I'd like to take this beyond a therapy aide/patient relationship? Or ask for his number or what? I'm one of those people that just blurts shit out, and that's no good. And in the setting where my work is there's always people around...awkward! Do I have one of my co-workers to be like "so what's going on with you and Shannon?"? Ugh. I'm so bad at this shit!! hahaha. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
