Where did the last 3 months go? It seems like just yesterday that i walked through that horrendous blizzard to my very first day of work at the good ol' Camden Riversharks. Today was my last day. It was crazt to me how close my co-workers and I got and how much i will truly miss it. I feel so blessed to have had such a great internship that I really did enjoy.
Highlights:
1. Adam is hilarious. Not an hour, much less a day, goes by that Adam doesn't say something stupid, have his intercom on when he doesn't realize it, make fun of how chubby he is,or something like that. My favorite days are when he calls staff meetings and then buys the entire office lunch or takes us all bowling.
2. Tarp pull. The tarp pull was this morning, bright and early at 8:45. Basically, when it rains on the field, we have to cover the infield as fast and as efficiently as possible because the drainage system sucks. Today, we did a practice run- problem was, it had rained last night so the infield was already damp, and it was incredibly windy because we were right on the waterfront. I wont explain the whole process, but it involves the whole staff on one side of the tarp dragging the tarp back and forth across the outfield. Well, when we fold it, the wind gets caught in it, swinging the tarp upward. Well, on my end of the tarp, a huge gust of wind got trapped, which pulled the tarp up in the air, and everyone holding onto the tarp (me, joel, barry and nikki) pretty much went right up with it and ended up flying through the air landing literally out in left field. Yeah, it was a nice little morning workout.
3. My boss surprised me and took me a Natalie (my other boss) out to lunch! I love surprises- especially when they involve free food for me :)
4. At the tarp pull this morning, I was wearing a shirt with letters on it. Kristen (our assistant GM) came up to me and points at my shirt and says "have we talked about this? i'm a phi sig too!" how sweet is that?
5. Random quote:
Bob- "Do you have a VCR?"
Radle- "Bob, its 2007. We use TiVo."
(I guess its funnier if you know Bob and Radle. Bob's 65)
So there you have it. Camden Riversharks front office in a nutshell. I will miss it a lot- maybe i'll be able to fly back out this summer for a game? I can only hope.
