caramanga- nostalgia for what could have been.

Harbor me like an open field
Keep me at yard’s length
My whirlwind is breathtaking
But it breaks.

Leaving you with only memento embers
And the skeletons of all the remembers
You can hold in broken pockets

I take down whole trees with me
Like maybe you are immune to electric
I’d say I’m sorry but
Lightning never apologizes
Just strikes wherever she feels like and

You were the tallest tree
In the shape of a man
Cloud picking, basket full of daydreams
Goosebumps when you bump into me
Boy,

If I could build a time machine
I’d build it big like regret
Big Ben, and death size
Plus
Counter clockwise
And we’d find ourselves without wrist watch or alarm clock

Maybe we would just have a picnic in the park.
Maybe you’d tell me you think fireflies are the best source of lighting.
Squeeze my hands hard so they bend bruise break
And re-teach me how to write
This.
Like this
Like you didn’t know my name
But we have all day to listen to the earth
And wait for it to tell us
Who we were born to be
