tabiod news

I understand how easy it is to be swept in by "news" stories. I've been reading celebrity gossip on and off since 2004. ohnotheydidnt was the first LJ community I really participated in, and I'm actually not ashamed to admit that. With that said, can we please start looking at the source before we judge any story to be true. I'm tired of seeing people here and on ONTD Proper getting out their pitchforks over some bullshit article posted by Contact Music, US Weekly or where ever!

If we were to believe any tabloid source, it honestly should be TMZ. I know it's shocking that I would said that. But unlike US Weekly etc, their managing editor is a LAW SCHOOL GRAD from University of Chicago. Mr Levin knows the law; he taught the law for like, twenty years. He knows how to get things. Despite their general creepiness, TMZ's record is pretty solid*.

TL;DR Check your sources.

*even with their sudden retractions. however, they post retractions at least.
**also, I'm not saying we should believe everything TMZ says. I'm just saying they are more believable than the rest.
