Speaking of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time -- and while this doesn't pertain to Bad, it still deals with Michael -- I think Thriller should have been higher than #20 FFS.
you know, i think that too. not because it was the HIGHEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME, but because it's simply brilliant. there were a lot of albums on that list that had no business being there, let me tell you.
Seriously, I looked at the list a couple weeks ago. I was like ... "Oh." It was very underwhelming, but it's the Rolling Stone. They're -- or rather, were; now they are putting the JONAS BROTHERS on their covers, damn -- biased towards rock music. Even though Michael experimented with all genres, he's marketed as a Pop artist ... well, after the success of Thriller, that is.
i mean, their name alone plays some reference to a rock song/group. i can't say they don't like the rock. but i figure labeling michael as purely pop was their way of having some way to market him when talking about him--it was true that he did just about everything an artist could do, but they really just need something to identify him with. oh rolling stone, way to not win.
Oh Rolling Stone are such failures. I've nothing against bias towards rock music, but how can you be biased towards it and have The Jonas Brothers on the cover! Actually, how can you have the Jonas Brothers on the cover of a music magazine...
hahahaha, that's what i'm saying! i don't know if i'm ready to say that the rolling stone is taking a fall, though--i'll save that for when they put miley cyrus on the cover :D
