Just finished watching
Shut Up and Sing with the Better Half--the documentary chronicling the three-year period after Natalie Maines* of the Dixie Chicks made her infamous remark about being embarrassed that the President of the United States came from Texas.
I do recommend it, but it's frustrating and amazingly hard and irritating to watch, particularly after all this time and all this death. And it seems like so much of the rhetoric hasn't changed. And I still am a bundle of raw angry nerves, watching George Bush stand on the aircraft carrier deck in 2003--2003!! and congratulate us all on a "job well done" in Iraq. So much so that I bit my poor husband. In the leg. Like a rabid dog.
There is no telling what I'll do if McCain wins the election.
Should probably go see if I've had my shots.
*Who I had somehow forgotten was married to Adrian Pasdan, who appeared quite a few times, all scruffy and delicious. Didn't make me any less tense, however.
