Yet another reason I haven't posted much this quarter: not only am I besieged with directing duties, but I also am at the helm of arguably the WORST section of research writing students I've ever had.
Case in point: in one young lady's draft of the short proposal, a part of her topic sentence read "...the pro's and con's of varying types of treatment." Among other editing, I crossed out "varying", on accounta she has "types", and wrote "redundant" over the crossing-out, so indicate why I had savaged it.
The new draft reads: "...the pros and cons of redundant types of treatment."
Oh, yes it does.
The other gem of the day? "When you have people that can make money hand over foot doing crooked acts, this people need to be brought to justice."
And before you ask, NO, he's not an ESL student.
*sigh*
