Does anyone want to travel to New Ulm, Minnesota with me to visit Wanda Gag's house? Or to Savannah, Georgia and we could visit Flannery O'Connor's house. I want to visit houses.
I'm terribly excited! Here is the reason: I have decided to semi-quit at Nightjar Books, as I'm mostly done with making the boring-ish books, and instead I am starting a new bookmaking project called Folklore. Folklore is amazing! There are books which you can make into art projects, there are vintage linens and wooden boxes, and I am hugely excited.
Thank you to Sherry for recommending the best book I've ever read: Housekeeping, by Marilynne Robinson. I'm just finishing it and really don't want to stop reading. I also just finished Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam (Meagan's suggestion, also amazing) and Play the Monster Blind by Lynn Coady (my own recommendation, her stories are stunning). I highly re-recommend all of these books!
And!
Stitch N Kitsch on December 15th! That doesn't seem soon, but it is.
Love Amy.
