Hey there... I took this from my communtiy 'MorrisonManiacs'. It was really long, so I decided to post it here...
Well, a comment recently posted stirred me to post this. Also, my mom goes to me "I think you're in your 'dead guys in bands' stage". I cracked up laughing. Then, I got a new picture of Jim singing at a live concert singing 'Break On Through' to put on the back of my door. Ahhh it rocks. I watched the 'Break On Through' video about 15 times today and then I was on the computer for like 6 hours, and everything I did was Jim Morrison or The Doors related. I found this book I am going to get, called 'Riders On The Storm: My Life With Jim Morrison and The Doors' by John Densmore (the drummer, obviously). You can read a excerpt on amazon.com (
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0385304471/ref=sib_dp_pt/002-3066738-1728841#reader-link). I seriously cried when I read this. It is so... hard-hitting and truthful. My best friend and I are reading it out loud crying and talking about Jim. It was great. I sat in the dark listening to my Doors c.d.s with some insense and candles lit. I really really REALLY want to read the book.
If anyone has read it, then please review it here. Anyways, so, I hope everyone here goes and rents it from the library or buys it from Books-A-Million (it's around $11.00 there), like I am going to do. Here's a little quote I want to add...
"I don't know why I'm writing this to you. Proves how much you possessed all of us- me, at least. You're supposed to be fucking dead, and here I am brooding over a letter to you in a hotel. But I don't care. I'm still pissed off and hurting. I wish I would have had the balls to say some things to you back in the sixties, but you were incredibly powerful, and intimidating. I'm extremely proud of our music, but there's something I've got to get off my chest. It's too late- for you. But it's not too late for me, and maybe some others, like the young kids who still idolize you."
That's from a letter John is writing to Jim after visiting his grave for the first time (3 years after the funeral he didn't attend) in the hotel he was at in France.
From page 5.
Anyways, I watched the 'Unknown Solider' music video on-line, the one that has been banned from T.V. since it's release in the 60's. Extremely powerful video. If you haven't seen it, then find it. Search video on altavista.com, or something.
Anyways, next-door at my aunt's house watching 'Stealing Harvard' with Danielle. It's 3:45 in the morning, and we've been reciting 'Wayne's World' ALL DAY. Then we hung out and went shopping (I bought Whitesnake's greatest hits, they rock.), then listened to music at my aunt's new (empty) house. After, we went to Blockbuster and rented 'Halloween' and 'Stealing Harvard'. Now I'm eating (finishing) a hershey almond bar and watching the movie. This is long, so I'm going to go now. See ya'll! Awesum response lately!!
Omigosh, for the past HOUR we've been trying to kill this fly... we've hit it exactly 16 times, it's gotten caught in the blacklight which hasn't been turned off in a year or so, and we heard him frying, and once I even smashed it against the door frame. And he just flew past my head.
Talk about SCARY.

**I dunno but he better not.**
