[Open to everyone!]

Turn the right way down any street, glance down an unexpected alley, maybe you'll see it out of the corner of your eye. Maybe you'll catch a hint of the music drifting out of the invitingly open wooden doors. There's always something. It wants to be found, this in, this bar, this club, this pub, this restaurant. It has many ( Read more... )

For once Jeanne-Marie does not arrive with her brother (or his boyfriends), instead she arrives a tad later than the other three in what she hopes is proper and yet festive attire. Looking around the Inn she spots her brother but decides to let him mingle by himself, instead she treats herself to a glass of white wine and stands quietly by one of the large and brightly lit windows.

"Hey, Jeanne-Marie," John says, immediately spotting her and coming over to say hello. He's not sure where JP is-- JP has a lot of friends to get to, usually. Sure, John does too, but he finds himself standing in the corner alone a lot, and he wouldn't wish that upon anyone, actually.

Especially sweet Jeanne-Marie.

"So," he says, and it's only a little bit slurred - he's already drunken more then he has in, oh, well. A long time, really. He smiles at her. "Looking forward for Christmas in Montreal? I am!"

Jeanne-Marie leans over and gives John a kiss on either cheek, a traditional Beaubier welcome.

"Hi hi," she says and her smile falters a little at the mention of their Christmas holiday. "I think so, it's always strange for me to go up back home but at least this time you, Doug and Jean-Paul will be with me."

"I'm glad you're looking forward to it though," she says, putting the focus back on John, "do you and Doug want to see anything in particular?"

John frowns, but only for a second. It almost seemed that Jeanne-Marie wasn't looking forward to their vacation, but he was positive JP would've spoken to her about that and they would have worked it out.

But he can't help but grin when she asks him about it. "Well, I don't know, I've never been! You guys will have to pick some good places to show us." He shrugs lightly. "I'm just happy to see where you guys are from, you know? I know it's important to JP."

Jeanne-Marie nods and takes a small sip of wine, "It means a lot to him that you and Doug are coming. I'm pretty sure I saw him writing up a list of places he wants to take you."

The corner of her lips twitch into a small sardonic smile and she raises an eyebrow at John, "Although I think some of them would left be off most sightseing maps."

John's eyebrows quirk up, and he can't help but chuckle. "Somehow, I don't doubt that."

He adds, "But we should go somewhere and do something you want to do. Or, like, if you want to spend time with your brother alone, just let us know, okay?" He shrugs lightly. "Doug and I would be fine with that."

Jeanne-Marie's face softens and she links her arm through John's, "I know you would be but this is supposed to be a family holiday and the two of you are family now oui?"

"Besides I did have one small idea for an outing..."

John holds her arm tight tight to his body. He can't help but smile brightly at being called family.

"Oh yeah?" he asks, eyebrows raised. He wonders if he should be afraid to ask, but he knows he'd do it anyway. "And that would be...?"

"Well I was sort of thinking that we could all take a drawn carriage ride through the snow at some point." She says cautiously, as if John might laugh at her idea.

"I just thought that you and Doug might get bored with the city, and it's really quite pretty with all the snow and trees..." She trails off and looks away shyly.

"I think that sounds great," John says. He grins playfully at her, "Are you and JP able to sit in a slow transit that way? JP'll probably get restless." But, he nods seriously, "But if that's what you want to do, I'm game. It'd be nice."

Jeanne-Marie looks offended and pretends to swat John's arm, "I can! I don't know about Jean-Paul though, he's much more impatient than I am."

This of course is a lie but Jeanne-Marie likes to pretend she's more collected than her brother sometimes.

"Did you see the Doom-Bot? He's got a Santa hat on, I think it's cute."

"It's not that hard to be more patient then Jean-Paul," John said, but laughed.

He looked over to the Doom-Bot. "It's pretty goofy looking," he said. "I can't believe those things are still around."

"One of Jean-Paul's friends was worried that they're evil." She says and looks up at John with wide eyes.

"They're not are they? I just sort of guessed that they aren't because they belong to Mike."

John shook his head. "Nah. Mike wouldn't have evil robots here among his friends and guests and stuff. Don't worry about it."

"Good." Jeanne-Marie says and then gives John's arm a squeeze.

"So I've been meaning to ask, how do you like Jean-Paul's tattoo?" She asks with a playful grin.

John can't help but smile at that; it was like an involuntary reflex, but one that he honestly felt.

"It was... surprising," he admits. But quickly adds on, "But cool, you know? I liked it. A lot. It was... I mean. Yeah. Pretty permanent."

Speaking of which...

"Jeanne-Marie. I told Jean-Paul that, like. If him and Doug were interested and wanted that... well, yeah. I think I'd marry them some day. Not, like, marry marry because two of us can't do that never mind three, but you know what I mean, right?" John finds his heart beating faster then normal and that he's, well. Kinda nervous. It's his 'ask the parent's' moment, but more then that, because this is Jeanne-Marie.

"Unless, like, you don't approve or whatever. I'd never think of doing it if you thought that wasn't good for him."
