Draco spies Mike giggling to himself. Amused, he taps Mike on the shoulder. "Hello, Love. What's so funny?"

Mike sweeps Draco up, grinning, and spins them around before letting Draco down again, arms still around him, says,

"Hello!"

and kisses him quite thoroughly.

Is rather surprised at this exuberance and flails a little as he kisses Mike back, hoping that he doesn't lose his balance and fall them into the cake or the punch or both or something worse. "Mmmph!"

Arms looped around Draco's waist, Mike smiles against him. "I'd never let you fall."

Laughs. "If it was into the punch or the cake and was guaranteed to be hilarious, I wager you'd think twice for a moment, though." Why so happy? And what had you giggling to yourself like a gigglepot?

[shaman_x]

"I'm happy because I am at a party with my friends and my husband and it's the season and," Mike adds thoughtfully, "now I think about it, there would be advantages to having you covered in cake."

He waggles his eyebrows suggestively. Anyway, that was the intent!

His lips don't even twitch. "But how would you serve me to your guests, Love?"

"Pfft!" Mike waves this off. "They can get their own cake. Other-cake for the masses, Draco-cake for me."

Laughs and laughs. "Okay then. So anyway, why were you all Mike!flambe and then not?"

[shaman_x]

"Oh, I was going to kill Toad," Mike says absently, "but local probabilities strongly suggest leaving him to his own fate will result in suitably ironic punishment, so I left him too it. Soooo..."

He smiles at Draco.

"Are you having fun?"

"You could push him into cake?"

Shrugs a little. "You know how I feel about large groups. But it was nice to see Kara again."

"It was very cool of you to come anyway," Mike says, kissing Draco's cheek. "Have you seen the gifts? I got everybody Happy Memory Balls -- come on, I'll show you!"

"I did see the gifts." Smiles and lets Mike pull him along. "But you can show me again."

[shaman_x]

Mike beams, pulling them up to the end table, and opening the box to take one of faintly irridescent palm-sized spheres out. "See, it's sort of like a Remembrall, and a Pensieve, and vaguely a Patronus, all mixed up into one. You just think happy things at it--"

He holds it up as he does so, and in the globe a tiny Mike and Draco are getting married in the snowfall.

"--and it records them! And then you can show them to anyone you want, or just yourself, and you don't even have to keep thinking, you can just call up any memory you like."

He offers the ball to Draco, adding,

"They could possibly use a better name than Happy Memory Balls, admittedly."

Takes it, looks closely at it. "It looks a little like the one you gave me before our first trip to Venice."

Then, shyly, "If you wanted me to sing carrols for your friends...I-I'd be okay with doing that. For you."

Mike blinks, then smiles. "Really? Because you don't have to. I mean, that would be cool -- there's a piano on the stage in the other room and everything -- but you just being here is totally cool enough for me."
