Julian and Noel were both sat at the table opposite eachother, Julian in his notepad scribbling ideas for a new novel, Noel on the phone to Julian's mother- because Julian had refused to talk to her- drawing Julian in his sketchbook.
"No his career is not ending." Noel sighed.
"No my career is NOT ending." Julian agreed quietly. "It's just on hiatus."
Noel smiled.
"Does he want to come stay with me for a while?" Mrs Pettifer asked.
"Hold on I'll ask him." He put the phone against his shoulder and spoke in a camp mock-mother voice. "She wants to know if you wanna come stay with her."
Julian screwed his face up. "No way!"
Noel sighed and put the phone back to his ear. "He said he'll think about it."
Julian's fingers had a spazm and the pen flicked out from his grasp and fell under the table. "Oh bollocks." He cursed getting under the table. As he looked up he saw Noel's fly had come undone. He saw this as too good of an oppotunity to miss.
"Yes he's handling the move very weEEEEEELL!" Noel jumped at the sudden warmth of Julian's mouth.
"Is everything alright?" Mrs Pettifer asked.
"YES!" Noel replied quickly before giggling a little bit, "I stubbed my toe on the table.. Just a moment." Noel threw the phone on the table and pushed his chair out. "What are you doing?! I'm on the phone to your mother!"
Julian wiped the corner of his mouth, smirked and pulled Noel's chair back in.
"Ooh. Ouch!" He picked the phone back up again. "Hi, I'm gonna have to call you back, the.. batteries dead."
"Wait, Noel we're not-"
Noel hung up and let out a loud moan, throwing his head back. His toes curled inside his socks. He lifted his head again and looked straight ahead.
To his horror, the paper on the walls looked.. different. No, not different it was... It was moving. Twisting and warping out of place.
He shrieked and stood up, stumbling back almost falling over with the chair. His sudden movements made Julian jump too and he banged his head on the table. "What is wrong with you?!" Julian shrieked, holding his head, standing back up again.
"Julian the wallpaper is moving!" Noel spat.
"What are you-"
"THE WALLPAPER IS MOVING!"
Julian followed Noel's eyeline to the wall and shook his head. "Noel, theres nothing there!" Julian hissed, angrily.
Noel blinked, and the wallpaper was as it was.
