He won't stop you from redeeming your box tops, but if you come out bleeding from anywhere, he will come to you and offer healing. Of course, you can reject him if you're the sort to enjoy bleeding. He'll look disapproving, but it's your loss

[She's come to see people come in and out as well. She seems to be eating licorice as she walks over.]

They must have really wanted one of those prizes.

[That strikes him as a little odd, but at the same time, he's here, so....he can't really judge, can he? The licrorice bit is weird though. He's seen too many bloody stumps to really enjoy eating something red and stringy now.]

Or they weren't thinking. I do that sometimes. But it's so much more dangerous here....

Yeah. People really need to think more. I mean, it's a creepy evil town! Doesn't it sound just a little strange that they suddenly want to give us our stuff back for cardboard.

Do normal Earth towns give things away for cardboard?

They used to. But it wasn't the towns. It was the people who sold the ceral in the first place. And they'd send you really cheap prizes for the tops of the boxes. It was a scam, but a pretty harmless one.

[Thinks.] I guess it makes you want to buy more boxes, so they get more money. Like prize tickets at a fair.

[He looks down the road to see if anyone else is coming. Quiet part of the day.]

I don't know. I don't think it'd be worth it, to lose something as big as a limb...

Pretty much. That's how advertising works anyway.

Oh yeah. Which is probably why they don't usually charge that much.

Well, that's good at least. [Good to know real Earth is not so freakish! In that way. Med'an looks back at her. She looks like a pretty normal human.]

Yup. As normal as they come.

I lived in a small town in Canada. That's the country that's supposed to be North of America normally. In this place...well who knows where it is really.

I read about Canada in school. They were colonized by the French.

I'm not from here....as you might've guessed. [With being green and all.] It seems like it'd be okay if we weren't trapped in this crazy town.
