I went to the Women's March in San Jose today and it was an incredible experience. The sheer number of disabled people, especially disabled young people, marching in person and spreading awareness online made my heart soar. I saw people of all shapes and sizes and genders protesting a variety of things, and I felt...welcome, and important. I think I can do this, and I want to follow this momentum.
However I only heard about the march with a few days notice. I try but I always seem to be woefully behind on local news, national news, international news, etc.
So if you hear about important events coming up, please tell me? Even if I probably can't participate. Even if you think everyone has heard about it before, I am not on facebook anymore, I don't get out much, and relying on news articles online seems to leave out so much or arrive too late to do anything about it. Thanks again to the folks that have already been doing this. :)
Oh and here's Asiz Ansari's SNL monologue from today that I thought was really great.
