Honey, the coloring on 5-8 is faaabulous, and I really love that your icons have a softness to them, but the colors still stand out - the ones with Allison, like 53 and 87, especially. Gorgeous as always. ♥.
thank you hun! the softness comes from a dark blue exclusion layer at the top and the layers before that bring out the colors. 5-8 were gorgeous to begin with ;) i made some bradam ones in honor of you lol

A few tutorials I absolutely adore would be this one, this one, and this one, but I usually use my tuts with a lot of modification and duplication. Sometimes, I duplicate my base, blur that layer with the gaussian blur set to either 1 or 2, and keeping the layer mode at normal and just lowering the opacity, which is what I did for the first 13 icons from my last batch. :D
I usually swear by a good set of smokey textures that look good when set to lighten, too (yours are some of my favorites).
