Okay, I thought I'd go through a few of your posts since you asked me to look at the cropping. I've started at the beginning if that's okay.
(I *love* Matt Damon! I may end up snagging one or two of these. I'll let you know which one(s) at the end of this.)
For me, I love off-center close crops. They allow visual interest to go in unusual places and allow space for text. Although they work wonderfully textless as well.
These aren't numbered, so pointing out which ones really work for me might be difficult.
I like the variations on the studio shots, both the peach background and the grey. The one with him leaning to the right (textless & "damonfan") holds diagonal interest which serves to visually lengthen the icon slightly. Also the close-up of chin and tie (grey background) forces the eye to consider something besides the eye (usually the first focal point).
Okay, I'm snagging the textless version of "damonfan". *g* Will credit, of course. Thanks!

thanks so much. this was my very first post on my lj and i love matty too! i actually have a fansite for him since before 2000 but i havent updated in forever cause i ran out of space and i been trying to get a new ISP. anyways, i was a n00bie to icons back then and didnt know how to make a table for the icons - i should edit this one now and redo it with a table since i know how to do that now.
the closeup "tie & lips" one is my fav actually. thanks for the critiques and credit. i love the look on his face in the oh my one looks like hes making a O face haha. sexy.
all the images and graphics i made are gone thou all that remains is the layout and text but at least u can see what it was. i hope to update it one day.
