So, Chuck got a 13 episode season 4 order. Yay!
Now cutting for spoiler type things
You know, I'm almost kind of bummed there's a season 6. I loved the episode, quite a bit actually, but it felt like a series finale, not a season finale. We'll see how next year goes I guess. Run down of reactions:
- So much love for the Impala's part in all this. Awesome sauce. That car's been such a big part of the show and I love that it was given a big part in the showdown. Chuck is totally right, the Impala is the Winchester's home.
- Everyone who's been complaining that Jared hasn't had enough to do? You can stop now. He nailed the Sam/Lucifer scenes. So freaking good.
- Dean. Poor, poor Dean. *huggles* Sam's gone (as far as Dean knows), Cas is off playing sheriff in heaven, Bobby's hunting and poor Dean is all alone trying to live up to his promise to Sammy. Honestly, I don't think he's in love with Lisa but I think he could get there at some point. He's more in love with the idea of a family. Anyone else think she was lying through her teeth about who Ben's father is?
- So, is Chuck God? That seems to be the fandom consensus at this point.
- I want more Adam!
- You know, if Dean had been Michael's vessel at the end of it, that entire conversation could have happened between Sam & Dean about two or three seasons ago.
- Cas! Assbutt? Really? Little angel really doesn't know how to swear.
- Sam blew out the light. Interesting. Very, very interesting. So is Sam an angel now? Wing!fic people, get on that.
Season 6 should be...interesting. Is it weird that I almost wish it was totally over? That "Swan Song" was really the end of it all?
I've only really gotten into this show in the past three weeks. I have no idea why it took so long but Oh. My. Word! Everything about this show is awesome. The vampire mythology, the characters, the fairly even handed character development (secondary characters don't get short changed at all), the pacing is brilliant (things dragged out just enough, but never too far), the lighting is gorgeous, the casting/acting is fantastic (Nina Dobrev blew me away last night), etc. I love it all! Here's to hoping that they can keep it up next year.
Season finale thoughts:
- Wow that's a lot to fit into on episode. But it still worked. The episode crammed a lot in while pacing everything really well and leaving lots of good questions for next season.
- Anna :( Dang it, Anna was one of my fave characters. There aren't nearly enough good female vampire characters around the genre.
- Emo!Damon. Poor guy. 150 years of switching off your emotions only to have them come bite you in the ass, all due to your brother's girl. At the end of this episode, I'm sympathetic towards Damon and kind of annoyed at Stefen.
- Uncle John is dead! Yay :)
- Jeremy!!! I wonder if the vamp thing is going to take? Vamp!Jer should be interesting next season.
- Katherine at the end. Oh my word, Nina Dobrev blew that one out of the park. I'm reading that quite a few people didn't pick up on it being Katherine and not Elena but I got it. I though she was acting a little out of character but when she turned and look at Jenna I was all "That's not Elena." I think Damon might figure it out, but we'll have to wait until next season to find out.
All in all, is it September yet?
