Sam Winchester :) The titles of episodes this year are completely made of win.
Well, that was interesting. It was so sad to see how much Sam's faith was shaken by meeting Castiel and Uriel. Do they even realize how much damage they may have done toward keeping Sam on the right path? Not that Sam wouldn't have killed the demon with his brain anyway, but I'd like to think he'd have tried harder if he hadn't been so disenchanted with the angels. Dean trying to reassure Sam and have his little brother hold onto his faith even when Dean himself isn't so sure (visits from heavenly beings not withstanding, Dean's still a skeptic).
Oh boys! *hugs* The expression on Dean's face when he comes upon Sam making with the demon killing ESP is heartbreaking. Sam's expression afterwards is almost as bad. He really fears Dean rejecting him because of his powers and having Dean seem him exorcise a demon with his brain has got to be a huge fear realized. Also, did I see black eyes? Last week Sammy had yellow eyes and this week they're black. Poor boy.
Uriel's an asshole, but he's a very cool asshole. An angel that specializes in smiting is nifty. His attitude towards humans is troubling. If we're working based on Christian lore here, God himself died to save those "mud monkeys." I think this is what Castiel was referring to when he said Uriel was "dangerously close to blaspheme."
Castiel became a much more rounded out character this episode and it's clear that his time among humans is affecting him. He seemed more human and more troubled by what's going on and even having doubts and questioning God's direction. He also seems to have a lot of faith in Dean and him being able to handle whatever it is God has for Dean to do, which is encouraging.
Okay, serious thinky thoughts over now. Amusing/squee:
- Dean and the candy :) You're supposed to stop eating before you feel like throwing up hon.
- Sammy the angel fanboy *hugs*
- The little astronaut egged the Impala! Not cool dude.
- Dean saying he'd come back as a hot cheerleader
- The totally epicness of the mytharc.
- Our show totally has the best actors and writers on tv, totally.
Annoyances: Guys, Samhain is pronounced "sowin" or something like that. Not "samhane." When in doubt, check the audio feature on
Dictionary.com. *rollseyes* Also, it's a holiday, not a demon. *sigh*
