Lost in the woods
So today was sports day at school - meaning, get your asses out in the forest and start orienteering. ............NAO.
Jesus I hate that shit XD But I still managed to somehow have a good time.
Step 1: GET TO THE STARTING LINE. This proved to be quite difficult. None of us seemed to know where the fuck we were going, and our teacher had already left for the woods, leaving us all to our fate. We got on the bus as he had instructed us, but soon forgot what our stop was called. We took a wild guess at a random stop which looked good. No good at all (duuh).
Then, one of the guys got the awesome idea that we should leave the road and take a shortcut through the forest - within 2 minutes, we're even MORE lost, climbing a damn mountain shouting "CAN ANYONE SEE A YELLOW COTTAGE?!" (that was all the info we had gotten, basically. XD Find the yellow cottage - find the startline). Once we were UP the mountain, we started rolling tumbling gracefully descending it again. A total waste of time.
So - FINALLY back on the road. Now, guess what? We have yet another smarthead among us! 8D "Let's take a shortcut across that ridiculously large field, shall we?" Yea - the grass reached up to my shoulders. Real smart way to pick.
Step 2: ORIENTATE. First, we had to wait at the start line for almost an hour before it was our turn. I gathered up with Nathalie, Sebbe and Max. You're really supposed to run alone, but hey - that totally sucks.
Conveniently enough, yesterday rain was POURING down all day. Result - the whole damn forest was flooded! XD When we got back to the finish, two girls from my class came limping, barefoot, with mud up past their knees.
"Wtf happened to you?!"
"We got stuck in a damn swamp!! D: We tried to scream for help, but no one heard us!!! Our shoes are still in there...."

Step 3: GET HOME. Now, if we couldn't find our way BEFORE, when there was like.. 20 of us... then how the fuck was me and Nathalie supposed to find our way BACK just the two of us? @_@ We spent a good half an hour walking in cirkles at that damn field with grass up to our ears. When we got out, we had no idea where to go, and sat down in the road to wait for someone else to come along or for a car to run us over - whichever came first. It was a fucking deserted road. XD
The same guys that we had been orienteering with earlier came along after a while, and helped us to a busstop. We get on the first bus we see - which also was NOT a good idea. It took us almost an hour to get back to the station lol.
But, overall, I had pretty fun 8DD
