You did the right thing. I assume these other students are in Law too? Yeah, there are a million jokes about the ethics of lawyers, but that doesn't mean they should take them as how to act.
Comparing is one thing, but it sounds like this guy wanted the easy way out. If he isn't willing to do his research or learn the material, he isn't cut out for a career.
Tell him to go back to Burger King or wherever...

he currently works at KFC! I'm not sure if he's a criminal justice or a corrections major...but I'm not sure he's cut out for either. has no sense of ethics or integrity.
