So, a few days ago, I watched in amazement of the iPad. It's a beautiful device, that.. to me, felt, futureistic. It was fun, it was functional, and it was sexy. As a game designer, I saw some awesome potential from such a powerful device. Bottom line, I loved it

If I want to watch movies in bed, I have a 19" flat panel display on my desk. If I want to surf the web or chat, I have a Pismo. If I absolutely need something small and light, I have a netbook - and I refuse to use a device designed for data entry which lacks anything besides an on-screen keyboard for doing so.
I drive this into the ground, I know - but a keyboard is an absolute necessity on anything I'm going to spend three figures for, especially over $500. I prefer T9 on my phone to a touch screen keyboard. I may be insane but that's a deal killer.
Along with the fact that it's not running a real OS... If Apple had come out with a tablet running OS X I would have seriously been impressed. I may not have bought it, but that would mean a lot more than one running the iPod OS on a bigger screen. =/
I think the simple answer is, what I want in a product and what Steve Jobs thinks I need are very, very different now than they were in 2005 when I bought my last new Apple product - a 5th gen video iPod. Which I no longer use =P
