So 2 teeshirts are painted. First impressions..
The stencil spray is glittery and fun, but it drips and pools and smears. Plus I had to blot it to get the stencil off, so I'm sure once it's washed it will fade. I followed the instructions exactly. Silly me. Next time I'll hold it from farther away and do it in thin coats.
The soft paint? Well.. it's hard to get it on with a foam brush so it's not streaky. I wound up stippling it with the foam brush, and a couple spots are a bit thick, but I like it a lot better then the spray.
Have to see after it's washed. I used the exact same stencil for both, so you can see how it turned out.
And I have stencilled John Lennon teeshirts that are iaf looking and you don't.
I realize sometimes when I'm approaching a crafting black hole, a point of no return. The fact all the blankets in the house are handmade is one clue.
The fact my dad uses only dishcloths I made is another.
But now I'm making a shopping bag, and of course a standard net one just won't do it. So it's got a pattern of sorts to it.
I'll write it up later, but it's turning out well. Originally, I was thinking I needed another one for going up to the convenience store. The pattern that is given away at craft stores *grows*. I made one. I hate it. I'm ripping it apart for the yarn, and making a new one with what I learned from it. It's turning out pretty. So here's the point of no return..
I'm planning my next one. Because after all, one won't be enough for going to the grocery store, and i need more bags for the grocery store. Can't BUY a 5 dollar bag.. nope. Have to get 7.00 worth of yarn and make one worthy of me.
Then I'll have to make a couple in plain black. Because somehow I don't see Mike carrying the candy colored confections of GROCERY bags I have planned.
