Martha and Bats
Last night at the gym, I watched Martha's podcasts for Halloween, and some of her projects were great, some.. well.. a lot less so. The Styrofoam and glow stick spiders come to mind as incredibly bad for the environment. Disposable chemical glowsticks. STYROFOAM. Oh well.. so even Martha isn't perfect. But one of them was for a window silhouette of a witch, which I thought was just nifty.
I decided to make a wall decal instead, using the bat that I drew years ago and have in a couple of my dingbat fonts.
The decal is 20 inches wide and 9 inches high. I printed it out on regular paper, and covered with a clear spray, then I used repositionable glue on the back to put it up on my wall.
If you want the outline and the version I used which I colored in on my computer, you can grab that here(pdf)
You can use the outline as a pattern on any sort of paper you like. If you use it on cardstock with a double stick tape or the Scotch adhesive that Martha recommends in her witch podcast, you can put it up in a window. If you trace the outline on to a piece of poster board, and cut out the pieces leaving the outside it's a stencil!
