Has been awfully exciting.
First obviously, the box of goodness from Japan. I still have no idea who from.
Then umm.. I'll put it behind a friends lock in a minute.
And I finally got pictures of goose!
I made a new printable today.
Onigiri box! If you don't know, onigiri are rice balls. In the box of goodness I got some rice molds that were bigger then the ones I had. My box is shown with my prescription sunglasses for scale.
So we had onigiri today stuffed with leftovers from last night's dinner. Yum yum!
Instructions for making onigiri by handTips: Use short grain rice. It's got more starch then long grain which makes long grain perfect for light fluffy pilaf but doesn't work nearly as well for molded rice. I also add a bit of extra water. If your child is as anti-nori as mine is, try soy wrappers. E liked those just fine, and used a bit of seasoning salt instead of furikake.
The box isn't to hold onigiri, it's just a little gift box/trinket box.
