Right. So I've been asked to give a paper on young adult rewritings of Shakespeare, and thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions. I'm looking specifically for books aimed at children and young adults, but other than that, all genres are welcome. For instance, I'd be curious to see if the Shakespeare-and-faerie subset turns up in the YA market as well. So far, based on wandering around Amazon, I've found five novels:

Caroline B. Cooney, Enter Three Witches: A Story of Macbeth (Scholastic, 2007)

Lisa Fielder, Romeo's Ex: Rosalind's Story (Henry Holt and Co., 2006)

---------, Dating Hamlet (CollinsFlamingo, 2003)

Lisa Klein, Ophelia (Bloomsbury, 2006)

Mirjam Pressler, Shylock's Daughter, trans. Brian O. Murdoch (Macmillan Children's Books, 2001)

As is evident, it seems like Ophelia is a popular figure (nothing surprising there). I expect there are a number based on Romeo and Juliet that I'm missing, and I could have sworn I'd heard about something based on Cordelia from Lear, but I might be mistaken on that last count. I'd love a few comedy-based novels as well, just to change gears a bit, but whatever anyone can think of would be great.

I would prefer books that have been published in the UK, as my budget is limited and I'm hoping to use libraries as much as possible, but if there's something particularly noteworthy that isn't available here, still let me know.
