You have been stranged! A room. Dark but ruined. The ceiling is painted mauve. A sign is nailed up, I suppose. "The room is a M", proclaims the wooden sign, hand painted and nailed to the low low ceiling. The floor is a pile of rubbish. Tinker toys, Blocks, a globe, a spy glass, clothes and a book of pictures of lands you may never see again. There is a stately wardrobe in one corner filled with clothes you'd love to wear but alas they don't fit. There are no windows. But there is a door and hanging on the door is a curtain- no something else. A great purple cape! It is now your cape. You decide instead to try it on and now your warmer but you're not going anywhere. It fits fine. Yes, the cape is open to you. A clock with fish instead of numbers is glued to the wall. How long have you been here? Forever, or not long enough. You're family might miss you.
Maybe. Maybe. But what if they are happy you are here. They stopped looking for you. And now they haven't seen you in so long they might be forgetting you right here and now. Ah, a letter! Two letters! If only you could give them that. What a relief it could buy you!
The color of the room? A deep red. Like a fish you shouldn't eat. Ah, if only you could eat! But wait there is a crate. Marked "cargo for the kitchen" perhaps! It opens. Viola! Delicious french cuisine! Too much butter, but 'twill suffice.
A splendid meal but how do you leave? What way is open to you? The door! Of course!
The door, huge, and unforgiving has a peep hole through which you see fresh gardnias! A water. A river that will take you away in a loop! Alas, a sign. A damnable sign!
"Answer this to be free. What two poor lost keys are missing? With them you would already be free! Tell me! Say them: what two lonely bits are missing from this weak and idle theme?"
Do you know? Are you out yet?
