Not signing up because I don't want the pressure of finishing my Harry Potter-as-Hamlet novel to a deadline. BUT... I was a Junior Fellow at the Folger Shakespeare Library some years ago, and I'd be happy to beta-read, especially for folks who are seriously trying to fit fandom characters into the tone and/or plot of a play and need some Shakespearean help. I can handle any of the plays (not sonnets), in HP, CSI, CSI:NY, NCIS, NUMB3RS, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Torchwood, any Jossverse, Dresden Files, Stargate:Atlantis, PotC, due South, The Sentinel, and probably some others that I can't think of right now. If you want to save me for rareplays (kinda like rarepairs I guess), that's fine by me.

Hey, thank you so much for the offer! I'm sure you'll be in much demand, considering your knowledge of Shakespeare and all of the awesome fandoms you know :D.

(also, I'm writing a CSI: NY fic, so I might have to take you up on this, since so few people know that fandom!)

I'm willing to read pretty much as much as I can fit in a day, and since I don't work, I can fit a lot. =P I'll be away from the net for two weeks in July, but I know more people are leave-it-till-the-last-minute sort, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Depending on what you like in CSI:NY, head over to threesome_fics. That fandom dominates the comm.

Yeah, I don't really expect any fics until at least mid-July. Maybe sonnets, but those usually don't need a beta.

I'm not a bit fan of threesome_fics. There's a lot of poorly written fic over there, so I just tend to avoid it (which makes me sound really snobbish, sorry :D! I'm really not).

No skin off my nose. =) I don't actually read the CSI:NY over there so I had no idea of the quality, because none of the possible threesomes do anything for me (unlike Jack/Will/Elizabeth, or Nine/Rose/Jack). I just know there's a lot of it on that comm because every time an update goes by I get hopeful that some other fandoms have discovered the comm. =)

I'm a big fan of threesomes in CSI:NY (various different ones), but yeah, I'd like to see other fandoms (and some better written fics) over there. Most of what I've seen there is Danny/Mac/Don and it's in desperate need of a beta reader, so I avoid it.

Hi, I'm hoping I'm not overstepping anything, but I was looking for a beta for my Othello-CSI:NY fic? I'd need someone for continuity, as well as spelling and grammar.

If not, that's totally ok!

That's fine; I'd be happy to beta. But I'm on vacation with family right now, and have limited net access... if you can email the file to me at my lj address, I can d/l it and read and comment, then mail you back next time we go somewhere with wifi. My access will be intermittent till Harry Potter day (July 21) and after that I'll be home and able to IM or whatever if you prefer that.

So, my total and utter inability to read the rules tells me that I need to write more.

Basically, I thought the MAX was 5000 words, but of course, that's the minimum. So I can go back and add a bunch I cut out. So, it's not quite ready for beta.

ANYWAY, thanks so much for the offer, and I'll let you know when I am done, and send you a comment to make sure it's still ok for you to beta.

Thanks!
