Thanks to those who came out to the park/Ruck on Tuesday night. I had a lot of fun. There was a good mix of people there - RPI classmates, Players, Volleyball peeps, Troy friends, knitters, and everyone got along and made friends. Several people came up to me and said "Your friends are so nice." I, of course, already knew that. :-)
Wednesday I played Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in a long time. It was fun and a good workout. I *almost* caught the Frisbee for a point, and I did set up at least two points.
Hooray for Olympic Volleyball!!! We now have Gold Medals in both Men and Women's Beach Volleyball! Our two indoor teams are both playing in the Gold Medal games (Saturday afternoon for the girls and Sunday night for the men). It's possible we would sweep all four Volleyball medals, although honestly I do not know if the indoor teams have it in them. They have definitely improved since the start of the games though, so I'm hopeful. I have LOVED watched Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treavor play! They are amazing, and always look like they are having fun (even in the rain)!
Last night Mike and I lifted weights at his apartment's gym. I am really sore, so I probably overdid it. Then I made a healthy dinner of Asian marinated vegetables and brown rice, but we were both still starving afterwards so we went to Friendly's for ice cream. Whoops.
Tonight I think we're having a quick dinner with T&A before the work party for Proof. Mike is coming to the work party too. I just hope there is stuff for both of us to do, and that it's not a mad house of disorganized freshmen lolling around. Not that having tons of freshman there won't be totally good for Players, but it tends to lead to low efficiency and a lot of standing around and socializing, which is annoying if you're there to actually work. If it gets annoying I may just do what I need to do for Props and then head out.
Saturday we're going to try to relax some. We're planning to go to the Farmer's Market (yay, Mike's first trip there), then to Grafton Beach (yay, Mike's first trip there and my first time in a long time), then meeting some of his friends for dinner and mini-golf. It's supposed to be 85 and sunny, so I can't wait for the beach!
Sunday I'm getting up early to dig up stuff in my garden, then bringing said stuff over to Alpha Phi to be replanted. We've planned a sister-alumnae event to weed and re-plant their flower beds. Right now it looks like alumnae turnout will be low though. :-/ Then I have the Alpha Psi Omega meeting. Then I will probably relax at home and watch the men's Volleyball match/Closing ceremony.
