(no subject)
Yesterday was super fun.
- Went over to winkernel's for breakfast and to say goodbye. I had planned to come over and help later in the day, but that didn't work out.
- Had zeroshapiro, tenner, iccubus and spiffstress over for lunch. We had a lot of yummy food (including a dip made of yak yogurt!). It was great to see Elyse and chat with everyone.
- Went to I Love to get Elyse good pizza and meet up with some other Rusty Pipe alumni.
- Went to the Rusty Pipes (a capella music) concert at RPI. I haven't seen the Pipes in a long time, and right now they are incredible. Probably one of the best colleges groups I have ever seen. Apparently they've been practicing 9 hours a week, and it shows. They were extremely polished, had great choreography, incredibly tight harmonies and amazing soloists. I don't think someone who hasn't has the experiences of singing a capella in a small group could really understand some of the harder intricacies of what they were doing, but I really appriciated it.
- At the concert I got to see Pete Steffan, who was my friend in High School and was a Rusty Pipes member. It was amazing to get to see him, he really hasn't changed much since HS, and that's not a bad thing. It was fun to reminisceabout HS and talk about our old friends. The best part is that I didn't realize it, but he still lives near here, in Malta! So, we are definitely going to try to hang out more. He is performing with his male a cappella group at Professor Java's on Wolf Rd next Saturday night, if anyone wants to go check them out.
- Post concert I went to the post-concert party. All the RP Alumni were there, and both the old and current members sang almost all night. The best parts were seeing Elyse sing "Change in My Life", Adam B sing "Bouncing Round the Room" and Brian Agosta sing "I Want You". Pete and I also played Beer Pong, winning one game and losing another. It was really fun.
Today I slept in, forgot I had promised Megan I would meet her in Albany, and now I'm watching the Bills cream the Dolphins and trying to get motivated to make cookies, do laundry, put up xmas lights and make CDs. I may go to the Theater Slam tonight, or go see The Golden Compass...
ETA: Ok, I'm going to both the Theater Slam at 7, and to the Golden Compass at 9:15 at the Spectrum. Call me if you want to come!
