So I didn't get in to University of Chicago! It's okay, I had known I wouldn't get in, but...idk, I guess I still had some hope, so it was still pretty crushing when I found out. Which was in the middle of my grandma's 80th birthday party, btw. I don't know why I opened the email there, but my parents had to bring me outside so I wouldn't ruin the mood with my tears~ So I haven't actually told any of my extended family. But I was only really upset for like a half hour, and by now I'm over it.
As my dad pointed out, that was sort of the first time I've ever gotten rejected from like anything. I don't know, I always get into programs that I apply for, I got into my first choice high school, etc. So I guess I have to get used to it~ But I wouldn't have been able to pay for UChi anyway so it's probably for the best. SO AT THIS POINT IT'S PROBABLY UMASS AMHERST OR SUNY BING. Hey, state schools, thanks for being cheap!
In cheerier news, I might get a job with the Census Bureau? I took the employment test and got a perfect score, so I imagine I'm getting an interview at least. That would be pretty awesome, because they pay REALLY WELL and it would totally look good on resumes.
IDK I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS STUFF AND COULD JUST LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE I AM BFFS WITH THE AMERICAN SHORT TRACK TEAM.
