Four truths. One lie.
1.) H----- is not my real last name. True. It was changed when my father's family came to this country a hundred years ago. I don't know if it was merely shortened (from, say, H----baum, H----feld, etc.) or if it had been something totally different and was changed altogether.
2.) I was proposed to as a teenager. True. We were 19. I loved him, but I said No. As things turned out, it was for the better.
3.) I've never been drunk. True. Like this was much of a surprise. I have control issues.
4.) I was expelled from Girl Scouts for fighting. False. This was stolen from someone I used to game with, years ago; I don't know why I remember this about Jen, but I do. Sorry, Cat.
5.) I am an ex-Communist. True. I was a Communist from 1995-1997, and I was not just a little bit Communist. I was really, really Communist. It's one of the reasons why I am almost wholly apolitical now.
