I have to buy wine and shrimp and French bread, for my m0mmy will be here on Friday on account of her birthday is Thursday, and I said "come up for the weekend". And she wants the thing I make with shrimp, popularly known as Shrimp Thing. I like the stuff, but I'm not as crazy about it as she is. (Recipe forthcoming.)
Also, she still has not told me what kind of cake she wants. I asked about cake when we were on the phone, to which m0mmy's reply was, "I don't know. What kind of cake do you want?" Whereupon I had to explain to her the concept of YOUR getting to pick the cake when it's YOUR birthday. Whatever kind of cake she wants, I need a recipe!
So I guess I also need confectioners' sugar. Fortunately, shrimp are on special at the store. $7.99 for 2 lbs. of cooked shrimp, and all I have to do is take the tails off. THANKYOUZEUS. Also I have to remind m0mmy to bring a footstool (so I can change the bulb in the bathroom fixture) and that she needs to bring her own soap and shampoo (as mine will give her hives).
Lest I seem to be complaining, I love my m0mmy and I am excited that she will be here. I just don't want to clean the apartment, but I know I have to. And I still haven't heard from Mel re: whether she wants to get together or not. I know Mel is busy, but I think I'll ring her just in case.
In other stupid news, a TI app! Although I haven't had time to look at it properly. And I think if L is still interested we will DEFINITELY have a Catharina, which takes the onus off me to cast her. w00t!
I'm grooving on
The Hall of Maat at the moment, because I don't care for a lot of pseudohistory (especially the Graham Hancock/Erich von Daniken variety). Yes, it's appealing on some levels, but the evidence doesn't support it, and what really happened was just as amazing and fascinating and incredible--if not more so.
Also: hello,
