So I went to the Red Cross book sale yesterday. Everything was half-price by then, so I scored pretty well for $4.75 (three CDs, four books). One of these was in the History of Civilization series by Will and Ariel Durant; some asshole let that go out of print, like nobody wants to read it or anything.
YA Poo Haul: Loving (Caitlin trilogy, #1, by Francine Pascal), Princess Amy (Sweet Dreams series, #4). Verdict: Hate Caitlin but will read rest of series to see if she gets any better. (Suspect that verdict will be No.) Did, however, like Amy. There's much to be said for a heroine who has a good body image.
Also found Second Form at Malory Towers. I'd been curious about Enid Blyton, since
augustuscaesar and the contents of her friends list seem to be more or less into Malory Towers. Now I understand why. I want the rest of the books now! Not included under YA Poo as is not Poo.
Finally had pizza and beer last night. YES! God, it tasted so good.
Events for the week: Wednesday there is a C421 exam which will require me to DRAW THE CITY OF ROME. w00t. To add insult to injury, Franklin is also my L308 prof, so if I do not do well on this exam, I will be forced to attempt to live it down 3 days a week. It does not help that I dorked today in L308 and nearly translated quae agat as lest Dumnorix should try to pull a fast one. All in all, I love what we translated today, though: Diviciacus cries in Caesar's arms, Caesar demands an end to it, then sends lovably incompetent Publius Considius out on a mission on the grounds that Considius was in Sulla's AND Crassus' army and thus has kickass credentials, and how was Caesar to know that he was going to magically turn into a dumbass?
Must have middle-voice Greek verbs down PERFECTLY, yo. I will be victorious, no matter who has to die.
In other stupid news, am going home this weekend as it will be the Fall Festival! HOORAY! Hopefully I shall talk to you then,
jurhael. Also, my new glasses are in. w00t.
I'm off to game.
