Writing exercise #1: From 'Mistakes He's Made' to 'Experiment'

Mar 06, 2009 01:03

Okay, folks, for those of you who don't know, I'm posting some writing exercises here, in the hopes that they may help other struggling authors. All fics that have not been previously posted are unbetad. Also, please take note of all pertinent information (such as rating and spoilers) in both stories, as they may not be the same from fic to fic.

This is actually amazing, what you were able to do here. I'm very impressed!

Thanks! I'm quite proud of it myself. All of it. But especially the fact that I actually did it and only froze up a tiny bit.

Let's hope I do as well on the next one. *waits nervously for beta to spring it on her*

Wow, what a difference changing the mood - and dialog to match - makes in the story. Completely different, hot, very impressive!

Looking forward to reading more "lessons."

*Hugs*

It is really amazing what you can do by just changing a few things. And how easy it is too! Well, at least with that one it was, who knows what'll happen with the next.

Speaking of the next...there will be more. Sometime. Not sure when exactly. I was working on one and had it about halfway done when it got deleted accidentally. Sinecure wants me to recreate it but I'm opposed. I had too much done on it and there's no way I'd be able to get back even half what I had in it. So...we'll see when the next one happens.

Wow, thats very interesting to see how the whole tone of the story changes even though the setting is exactly the same!

It is. And I'm actually looking forward to doing more of these...despite the fact that they deal with change and I'm still a change-a-phobe.
