Several days ago I went to a library and rented this book:

THE ESSENTIAL 1,000 FILMS TO SEE
I looked in it (it has over 1200 pages and is very heavy) and discovered I only had seen about 27 of them though I might have seen more but no longer remembered seeing them. The first movie I saw was Gigi which I saw in a movie theater in 1958 with my mother when I was 5 years old and I started seeing other movies on TV when I was 7 when we got our first TV.

Local Hero 1983
M*A*S*H 1970 - yay (M*A*S*H TV series from 1972 to 1983)
Meet Me in St. Louis 1944 - yay (one of my favorites)
Miracle on 34th Street (1947) - yay
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers 1954 - yay
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937 - yay
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 1982 - yay (one of the most important movies)
Star Wars 1977 - yay (the first SW movie)
The Ten Commandments 1956
2001: A Space Odyssey 1968 - yay I saw it and still recall the suspended animation
The Wizard of Oz 1939 - yay one of my favorite movies
Yellow Submarine (also known as The Beatles: Yellow Submarine) 1968 - yay
