Oddly Abbreviated
So, with November nearly upon the world, I went down to the National Novel Writing Month web-site to register. To my surprise, I'd already done so last year.
It's surprising because last year was the one where I didn't write anything at all for the thing. Guess that's not quite true now, as I did apparantly write down a user name and password, even if I never did use either.
In the years before, I've been too ambitious in making attempts for NNWM. Coming up with some clever plot which then has to be followed exactly and leads to me getting bored with it. So now I'm just going to make it up as I go along. Sure, I have scattered papers around my room holding random snippets that've entered my head at odd moments, but the main momentum of the prose will be borne along by pure coincidence this time. I don't even have a protagonist in mind yet.
I give myself < 1 week before I give up.
