The new Transformers movie was decent enough, in its way. The plot was preposterous and Michael Bay's drippy love affair with the US military was distracting, but let's not dwell on negatives.
There's some top quality Soundwave and Starscream, and a great attempt at redeeming the shameful name of Wheelie. Too many robots, not enough screen-time, though (since every spare second was given over to aircraft carriers and control rooms and OHGODTHECROTCHICAN'TFORGETIT). The new 'bots and 'cons edge out the old ones in a manner that the old cartoon would have been proud of.
Lots of explosions and shooting, but a pity that the final fight takes place in a location not too different from one in the previous movie; it would've been cool to see a vastly different terrain being napalmed. It would also have been cool to have some more aerial combat, in place of the masterful strategy adopted by the Deceptions.
I don't hate it. It just could've benefitted from a surgical removal of Michael Bay.
Oh, and there's nothing after the credits. Which themselves still don't feature anything like the following:
