Failures

I grow from my failures. Maybe for some people that's not always or quite true, but every failure that I've had I grow from. Today's quote is, "You always pass failure on the way to success." - Mickey Rooney

I remember when I first started Mary Kay, I think I held my third party, and I remember thinking that I was ready to become a director. That's it. I've done it. I am ready to become a director. Boy, was I wrong! Three parties might have meant that I knew how to hold one, but I was in no way ready for the complexities that would come with it. I knew the logistics, but I almost never did the table close. In fact, it probably took me about 2 years before I made it part of the routine to do the table close. I was doing the individual close and asking for the sale, so wasn't that the most important part?

I talked to people (step 1), I got their contact info (step 2), but then sometimes I would take forever to contact them, or my follow up was terrible. Those, I think we can safely say, were failures in their own way. But now I truly do see the importance of each one. I saw the tiny sale. I saw when the sales grew from just doing the process correctly.

I grow from my failures.
