(no subject)
So, I'm really busy this semester. I'm an Senior Resident, which is an RA who is also the supervisor of the other RAs in a dorm. So, five RAs report to me. That plus APO takes up a lot of my time.
I haven't really done any school work yet which kinda scares me b/c everyone else is doing schoolwork and when I say I haven't done anything they gasp in horror and shock. So, I'll probably try to read...something...tomorrow.
My residents are ok this year. Some of them are doing the drinking thing and I had to scare them, so they might be angry at me right now which sucks b/c they live next door. I really don't want to have residents next year, so I'll prolly apply to be something else or just quit resident staff even though the free housing makes my dad happy. I'm not very confrontational, so I'm not the best policy enforcer, but when it's so obvious that they're drinking b/c people are knocking to get in the room, and their shades are drawn and they put out cologne to mask the smell of alcohol I feel like I'm not doing my job if I don't go try to bust them. Res staff is a bitch.
I'm flying to Illinois to see Kari next weekend which will be her last weekend before she flys to get trained for the Peace Corps and then she'll live in Senegal for two years. I'll probably be pretty bummed for a while after that but this weekend looks promising. Her parents love me like all parents, so I'm sure they'll shower me with gifts. Hopefully, they won't ask me any awkward questions about if I'm going to wait for her. SHould be interesting.
Nick goes to UVa now. He's in the engineering prgram which he loves b/c he sometimes does math recreationally. He seems to be pretty self-sufficient, so I'm happy about that. He's on facebook so make him some friends. Need sentence variation.
