I Love The Ladies!!!
Recently I caused a bit of confusion for one of my female friends. See, I'd been reading a whole heap of feminist literature and then even some stuff on rape culture. It's interesting and enlightening stuff. Anyway, I realized that when I compliment some of you ladies, whether here or on facebook it might be seen as creepy by some. It's a matter of perspective really. My intention is always complimentary and supportive.
I have to be very selective as to what I like or comment on because it then gets shared among my friends list. One of my female friends has probably gotten more compliments than most and I started to worry, so I apologised if somehow this was being seen as unwanted attention. She was confused because she knew there wasn't any wrong intent behind what I was doing; I just had to explain it anyway.
If I have made you feel uncomfortable, please let me know. I want to have as many female friends as possible.
