I was going to update my journal today, but got distracted making
dinner. My degree of success in this endeavor remains to be seen, since I hate buying onions and instead begrudgingly sprinkle in a few flakes of dried ones and nearly always end up regretting it, as dried onions are horrible and strong. Also I'm using a kettle instead of a skillet, and I didn't have enough crushed tomatoes. Always an adventure, I guess...
I went to the dentist for the umpteenth time this month (no cavities, but lots of appointments surrounding wisdom teeth removal) to get a quick sealant. While he was in there, the dentist was like, "Hey, you have a really sharp tooth! You know what would be a good idea? To file it down right this moment with a drill!" This, of course, spiked my stress level to somewhere around the exosphere. If I had been hooked up to a heart monitor, my fear would have been made audibly bare, like when they were stabbing me with IVs for my surgery. I sat there in a hunched mass of tension, just waiting for the drill to slip and jab a nerve, but it ended up okay (though he did get distressingly close a few times).
A full day of casual work tomorrow...it may just be the longest day of my life to date.
EDIT: I can now officially recommend the chicken parmigiana, as it was insanely delicious.
