Oh wow, this is just beautiful! The connection between Kara's mother and Laura and how Kara manages to fight through the memories to be there for Laura, until the end when it gets on top of her and Laura can be there for her instead, just perfect.

It's so sad and so hopeful and they just work together so wonderfully.

I'm so happy that you wrote them! I would love to see more Kara/Laura from you sometime :)

Wonderfully woven together with Kara's memories, fears, and her resolve to be there for Laura. And Laura still trying to exert hopeful control--Something about her wanting Kara to save her leave days for a beach trip, not spend them at the hospital, just killed me. Lovely.
